Lite and Pro

Notes

Notes are Markdown files in the Nexum workspace. Lite and Pro use the same editor. The difference is how many of those files stay unlocked.

Nexum Lite

10 notes

The first 10 notes stay unlocked. Later notes remain in the project, with a lock.

Nexum Pro

Every note

Every note in the workspace opens, including a file added outside Nexum.

Markdown notes in Nexum, with the Files sidebar, open tabs, and embedded code

A note in the center, Files on the left, and tabs for the documents that are open. Task Notes show a TASK badge. They count toward the same 10.

How Lite counts

  • The order is stable. Nexum remembers which notes were already in the workspace, so renaming a file, moving it between folders, or restarting Unity does not shuffle which notes are unlocked.
  • A note created later, including one added outside Nexum and then found on disk, takes the next place in line.
  • Notes past the first 10 stay in the project. They appear in the File Explorer with a lock. Opening one shows the edition window. Their text is left as it is.
  • Creating another note from inside Nexum is refused once 10 notes are already unlocked.
  • Deleting an unlocked note frees a slot, and the next locked note becomes available.
  • Daily notes and Task Notes are Markdown files, so they share this count.

What stays the same

Writing, formatting, saving, renaming, and moving stay available on every note Lite has unlocked. Locked notes are left as they are: Nexum does not rewrite them, strip them, or remove them.

How to use notes in the editor: Notes.

  • Writing

The editor on an unlocked note, with no length cap.

  • Daily notes

Dated notes that share the 10-note count on Lite.

  • Tasks on a board

A Task Note is a Markdown file, so it uses a note slot.

  • Open tabs

How many of those notes can stay open at once.
